Bognerová, Martina: Technician Apartmens (bachelor thesis) - Slovak university of technology in Bratislava, Faculty of architecture - Institute of Residental Buildings Thesis supervisor : doc. Ing. arch. Marián Malovaný, PhD. - Bratislava: Faculty of architecture, 2014, 77s. Aim of the bachelor thesis was to design an accommodation center for Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. This aim was completed in two parts, as a project for territorial proceedings and project for construction permit. Location specific regulations and agenda of the site had to be taken into account in this solution. The specified building plot is located in Bratislava, in the city district of "Staré mesto". The plot is bordered by Slovanská Street from the north-west, Školská Street from the north-east, Radlinského Street from the south-east and Street of Imrich Karvaš from the south-west. The site has busy traffic, which has a negative impact on the attractiveness of the territory. On the other hand, direct presence of main public transport lines allows quick connection to other city districts, as well as the main railway station. An important factor is neighborhood of the Faculty of Civil Engineering STU, the Faculty of Architecture STU and the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology STU. Site is also located on main pedestrian lines to student dormitories. The proposed facility is trying to create the desired accommodation as well as additional space for cultural and social activities of students. The mass of the building flows along the entire area, with dominant break, which refers to the entrance of the Faculty of Civil Engineering building. The mass is divided into three exterior parts - area of green spaces for isolation, covered spread space in front of the main entrance, relax zone with park and terrace, isolated from busy roads. An important element of the project is the green space, which has aesthetic, insulating and environmental hygiene functions. The proposed building has two parts. First part is accommodation for students with connection to social-cultural space and gallery on the ground floor. Other part is used as accommodation for visitors and professors of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
