This bachelor thesis is focused on the design of a building for the Slovak Technical University Educational Center. Addressed parcels are located in the Old Town district, adjacent to the National Bank of Slovakia and the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The idea of proposed education center is to create studying space and conditions for all faculties of STU and, moreover, to create opportunities for further promotion of cooperation between students from different specializations. The heart of this concept is the indoor atrium in the building of Educational Center, in which all the faculties, exhibitional space for the university and educational facilities are oriented. This concept does not address only the building itself but also the Education Center exterior elements in adjacent parcels. It suggests direct connections for pedestrians along the green area and additional retail and service facilities for public. On the neighboring plot, which in its present state does not meet the requirements of location, the project proposes apartment housing for students with parks and public facilities in the parterre. The shapes of buildings are simple, expressively allied with the dominance of the main building of the Center. Architecture of this building is described more in the companion report.
