In the past, the surroundings of Krupina were characterized by peasant settlement and small-block arable lands and fruit groves. After collectivization in the 1970s, small-block fields was abolished, whereby original landscape character was changed. In the thesis at the beginning is analyse theme of the European Landscape Convention, its legal anchoring in Slovakia and the most important concepts. The core of the work is the classification of historical agro-structures and their evaluation in relation to the intensity of land use and in connection with the occurrence of negative phenomena, processes and objects (erosion hazards, succession processes). Based on the assessment of the suitability of the use of agricultural land in the places of occurrence of historical agro-structures, the optimization of the use of agricultural land is proposed so as to minimize negative objects, phenomena and processes. The preservation of functional agro-structures has a positive impact on the local biota and at the same time historical agro-structures have a positive effect on the characteristic appearance of the country. The maps processing in the ArcGis program was analyzed the characteristics of landscape of the locality Starý Háj – Ficberg, located north of the town of Krupina. Using analyses data outputs from map bases and field research was determined significant features and characteristic appearance of the landscape and identified historical landscape structures and settlements. The current landscape appearance is threatened by build-up areas on original lazing settlement and the expansion of the town of Krupina. The results of the thesis can serve as a basis for decision-making and development for the future land plan of the town.
