The submitted diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the potential of the village Čierny Balog to support the well-being of the inhabitants and visitors of the village. The presence of the natural and forest environment has a significant and important impact on human health and well-being. As the village is significantly surrounded by forest environment (85% of the total area of the cadastral area), we focused on determining the impact of vegetation and forest on people using a survey. Our respondents were residents and, as well as visitors, The village Čierny Balog village is wellknown for the Forest Open-Air Museum and Čiernohronská railway, which represent an important tourist attractions. In the survey, we focused on the availability of vegetation and green areas near the respondents' residence, further on the preference of spending the free time in the forest or in the park, as well as on the opinion of presence of the dead wood in the forest, and the feeling of respondents after visiting the forest. Comparing the answers our survey from 2019, we evaluated the question: How do you like to spend your free time? Responses are also greatly affected by the pandemic COVID-19. Furthermore, the work focuses also on the analysis of positive and negative elements and phenomena in the country. We also analyes available accommodation facilities in the cadastral area, and followed to what extent providers of those facilities use the presence of natural or forest environment in the promotio of their services.
