Master thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theory explains the main context of the need to protect the landscape. The analysis of the issue, based on the topic of sustainable development, describes the understanding of the landscape, its management, and legislative instruments of landscape protection. Subsequently, the initial theses of the creation of ecological networks, their definition and development are explained. The issue of TSES is gradually explained. The definition of TSES, its history, elements, hierarchical levels, and documentation are described. The practical part of the diploma thesis is focused on the creation of the proposal of the LTSES of the cadastral territory of the city of Žiar nad Hronom. Based on the content of the LTSES documentation, listed in Annex no. 24 in Decree no. 24/2003 Coll. its key parts are processed for the area of interest: definition and basic characteristics of the area of interest, analyzes, syntheses and proposals. In the area of interest, 11 biocentres, 13 biocorridors, 3 interaction elements, 1 ecologically important landscape segment, 6 types of gene pool localities, 5 types of ecostabilization measures and 3 types of legislative measures were proposed. In the text part of LTSES, partial map outputs are shown in selected chapters. In the graphic part of LTSES, within the appendix of the diploma thesis, the mandatory map outputs are shown.
