The bachelor thesis deals with the monitoring of the activation of the spruce barkbeetle, specifically in the stands affected by the wind calamity in the model area of protective district Podbanské. Based on the available literature, the issue of the most important wind calamities and the most important biotic pests was processed. In the model area, the catches of spruce barkbeetle into pheromone traps for the period 2010 - 2020 were analyzed. The influence of the non-intervention area, the influence of the average temperature and the total precipitation were evaluated. It has been found that climatic factors affect the activation of the barkbeetles and the non-intervention area affects the surrounding forests. Finally, a proposal for safeguard measures was prepared and finally the current situation was assessed on the basis of the results.
