The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to point out the importance and functions of riparian stands and the related need for continuous tending, which is currently based on the integrated of torrents. The first chapter of the thesis approaches the set goals, the second chapter contains the characteristics of torrents, explain their specific features, and points out their positive and negative aspects. In the next part, the issue of riparian stands of torrents is elaborated, with emphasis on their functions and significance for the landscape. Subsequently, the work describes the possible ways of managing the riparian stands of torrents, emphasizing the importance of individual design elements of integrated torrent control which results in a comprehensive care of torrents.
