Hunting customs and traditions form a very important part in Slovak hunting culture that make it unique. It is very important to realize, that wrong using, or not to using them at all is not a good way to proceeding Slovak hunting, and respect the nature, game animals and our forefathers as well. An objective of Diploma thesis is get to know information about historical development of hunting customs and traditions in connection with their currently using, and design how to use them right. Problematics of Diploma thesis grounds in the development of hunting customs and traditions, history, traditions in different periods and with the current used customs and traditions. It also deals with game hunting, hunting residences and, last but not least, with the current hunting customs and traditions. The results were achieved by using the questionnaire Evaluation of real using customs and traditions in practical hunting across the country and consultations with experienced experts. Follow findings were processed in Excel using tables and resulting graphs to which a professional commentary is attached. The results suggested the proper use and placement of hunting customs and traditions in practical hunting. In the end, there was a review of the actual hunting habitudes and traditions situation.
