BALÁŽOVÁ, Silvia: Application of Accounting Principles in the businesses accounting in the Slovak Republic - diploma thesis. Zvolen: Technical University in Zvolen. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of generally accepted accounting principles and examples of their application in the practice of entrepreneurial subjects. The aim of the diploma thesis is to point out the importance of applying selected accounting principles in the accounting policy, in the financial accounting of accounting units on examples of selected business entities. The work is logically divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter is a theoretical and we have devoted to the theoretical bases of financial accounting and accounting principles, its substance and the breakdown of individual accounting principles and theoretical definition. The second chapter describes the main purpose of the work, which was to point out the importance of applying selected accounting principles in accounting policy, namely in the financial accounting of accounting units, on the examples of the financial statements of selected business entities. To achieve the primary goal, we have set ourselves to meet the partial goals. In the next chapter, we devoted our work methodology and research methods. The main part of the diploma thesis is the fourth chapter, in which we examined the application of selected accounting principles in the accounting policy and financial accounting of selected business entities. The conclusion of the work summarizes the results obtained from the application part and concludes the final conclusions on the given issue. The benefit of this diploma thesis is the discovery and confirmation that it is necessary to adhere to the accounting principles and accounting methods. At the same time, we have also confirmed that for users of financial statements and notes to them, it is even more important to report additional information in notes, which often inform, the user of much needed decision-making information, for example, about working with a potential business partner.
