The aim of the diploma thesis is evaluation of fire ventilation in two road double pipe tunnels in the Slovak Republic. Specifically, the thesis deals with evaluation of tunnels Ovčiarsko and Žilina. Methodology of evaluation was carried out in accordance to the current legislation, mainly in accordance to Technological Regulations n. 049/2018 – Ventilation of Road Tunnels. The result is an evaluation of ventilation and smoke tests in the case of a stationary car fire and a moving car fire in tunnels. The tests were classified as successful under the legislation. Evaluation of the method of ventilation in tunnels and deployment of sensors and detection devices ensuring safety in normal traffic and in the event of an emergency.
