In this bachelor thesis, we analyse the evacuation of people from a medical facility, which also includes people with reduced mobility and orientation. In particular, we are discussing facility “Liečebňa dlhodobo chorých v Detve”. Part of the thesis is a summary of measures to increase the safety of evacuation. We came to these measures on the basis on unfavourable measurements considering a probable course of evacuation. Our bachelor thesis is based on legislative regulations according which we evaluated chosen medical facility and which are valid in the territory of the Slovak Republic. Furthermore, we provide a view on evacuation from different perspectives as well as a view on evacuees, their decision making and behaviour in emergency situations. We chose the topic of this thesis intending to bring more focus on older buildings, which often suffer from frequent shortcomings in terms of safety evacuation.
