The bachelor thesis deals with the determination of selected fire technical properties of wood. To determine these properties, we performed an experiment in which we tested samples of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst.) at different loads. Selected fire technical properties are weight loss, absolute burning rate and determination of the thickness of the charred layer. Through laboratory measurements, we pointed out that the resulting values of selected fire technical properties are greater at a load of 30 kW∙m-2 than at a load of 20 kW∙m-2. The bachelor thesis also deals with the description of the basic properties of wood and the characteristics of Norway spruce, as well as its properties, occurrence and use.
