KARLÍK, Miroslav: The influence of hydrothermal treatment of solid wood on the quality of the created surface by milling furniture cuts on a CNC machining center. [Diploma thesis] / Miroslav Karlík - Technical university in Zvolen, Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology, Department of Wood working, Supervisor: doc. Ing. Richard Kminiak, PhD. - Zvolen, Technical university in Zvolen, 2020The diploma thesis is carried out by experimental investigation of the influence of hydrothermal treatment of wood on the quality of surface created by milling on CNC machining center. Experiments took place under specific technical-technological parameters in the process of milling beech wood (Fagus Sylvatica L.), hydrothermally both treated but also untreated, so-called native wood. Removals e = 1/3/5 mm and feed velocity vf = 2/4/6 m.min-1 were used. Hydrothermally treated samples were treated at three levels. The first level at 105 °C, the second level at 125 °C and the third level at 135 °C. All three events were running for a constant steaming time t = 9 hours. By experimental investigation, we were examining the influence of hydrothermal treatments and selected parameters on the created surface. The measurement was performed using laser profilometer LPM-4 by company KVANT s. r. o., thanks to which we could derive roughness and waviness profile parametres from the primary profile. Evaluated parametres of the roughness profile were mean arithmetic deviation of rougness profile Ra and arithmetic average of the largest roughness profile heights Rz. Evaluated parametres of the waviness profile were mean arithmetic deviation of waviness profile Wa and arithmetic average of the largest waviness profile heights Wz. Afterwards, the mentioned roughness and waviness profile parameters were evaluated by software programme STATISTICA and exposed to multi-factor analysis of deviation ANOVA. Based on the measured data, the effect of hydrothermal treatment of wood on the quality of the created surface was not confirmed.
