This diploma thesis deals with the management of flood risks in the conditions of climate change in the district and the town of Komarno. The threat of climate change and its negative consequences are currently a very serious and immediate problem. The main goal of the diploma thesis was to identify hazards, assess the danger, the susceptibility of the Komarno district to the occurrence of floods and the vulnerability of the Komarno town to floods. This evaluation and assessment was performed based on analysis and synthesis of knowledge and information obtained from relevant documentation of relevant institutions. Those are responsible for implementing activities and measures in connection with flood protection in Slovakia and conducted interviews with experts from the District Directorate of Fire and Rescue Service in Komarno and from the Slovak Water Management Company, S.E., branch Bratislava - Internal Water Administration Komarno. At the end of the work are declared costs incurred for the implementation of flood prevention measures at the level of the Komarno town and the amount of flood damage on the example of the flood that affected the Komarno town in 2013.
