The bachelor thesis deals in detail with the issue of systematic classification, ecological claims, spreading, vegetation, variability and perspective of black alder from available professional literature. In the second part of the thesis there is a detailed methodological procedure for evaluating the variables of the qualitative traits of the strain, crown, bark and the health condition (damage) of natural populations of black alder in the orographic unit Kremnické vrchy mountains.The preliminary processing of the given issue and methodological procedure is a suitable background material for subsequent measurements, evaluations and research of black alder not only in the studied area but also in other areas of Slovakia.
