This thesis deals with the analysis of the possibilities of assessing mixed municipalwaste by plasma gasification technology. The first part of the work is focused on theoverview of the current state legislation in the field of waste. Listed is the characteristicof mixed municipal waste as a feedstock for plasma gasification. This work thencontinues to review the waste heat treatment and the description of the plasmagasification technology of the waste. The second part deals with the analysis ofcommercial operations in the world using plasma gasification technology of the wastefrom Westinghouse Plasma Corp. Part of the second part of this thesis is to describethe projects mechanism for plasma gasification of mixed municipal waste in SR in thelocality of Bardejov, Vranov nad Topľou and Šamorín. In the chapter of work resultsand discussion is a comparison of plasma gasification technology with other waste heattreatment technologies. At the end of the work is the evaluation of plasma gasificationtechnology of waste and its possible future in exploitation of energy from waste.
