The proposal of the bachelor thesis was to design a market place in an existing various buit-up areain Bratislava, Dúbravka. The site is a downhill, approximately square-shaped with an elevation of about 4 meters, nowadays free lawn with some sparse higher vegetation. Most of the time is only used by citizens in the immediate neighbourhood for dog walking, and occasionally for some events such as circus and so on. The Dúbravka House of Culture is located on the southern side of the site, and from the north side is a high polyfunctional apartment building and the Billa food chain. Facing east of the land there are mostly 8 to 13 storey residential buildings and the main busy road is on the west side. When I visited the land I found it has great potential, it is in excellent positionand I need to link existing walking paths and create a new public space. Since from the south side is a busy communication, I wanted to create a partially insulated space for the exterior markets and different events. The initial plan was to create a courtyard, but to communicate with the public space and new square, I decided to put a part of the building on the columns so that the space of the courtyard will be connected with the surrounding space and a big large multifunctional space was created, but it is still somewhat isolated from the main road.I divided the building into two L-shaped parts, creating a shopping arcade in one wing,which connects the existing polyfunction and the House of Culture. The second wing of the 1st floor is used as sanitary facilities and service of the building. The entire 2nd floor with the 1st above groundroof is creating one circuit of catering area, cafes, bars, terraces, work and relaxation areas,and on the green roof a box garden.Under the almost whole site is underground parking with 165 parking spaces with driveway and the exit from the road "behind" the site. In the first part of the proposal I focused on the urban and architectural solution of the whole concept and then in the second part on the construction and material solution. The first part of the proposal is processed in detail of a architectural study and the second part is in the details of the construction project according to the current regulations and standards.
