KIVADER, J., 2019: The Effect of Growth Traits and Growth Potential on the Natural Population of Speckled Alder (Alnus incana [L.] (Moench.) in the Ondava Highlands Technical University in Zvolen, 55 pp.The Master thesis is aimed at the research on the effect of growth traits and growth potential on the natural population of speckled alder (Alnus incana [L.] Moench.) in the Ondava Highlands. In total, seven research areas with different elevation, in the zonation of about 30 meters were found. The areas were located in the range from 410 to 600 meters above sea level. Three individuals were observed in each research area and increment cores using the Pressler auger were taken. The thesis consists of several parts divided into individual sections. Section dealing with the results is the main part of the thesis. Different variability of the radial increments according to the elevation and conditions in the research area are mentioned in this section. Following the results, the fact that research area number one with the local name “nad Haťou” with the lowest average sensitivity of 0.289 and the highest average autocorrelation of the first array of 0.899 is the most suitable for growing speckled alder can be seen.
