My diploma thesis deals with the technical solution of gaseous fuel propulsion and especially with the drive for compressed natural gas. The work consists in the first part from the actual situation of the problem, where you will learn about trends in using of alternative fuels, what role the natural gas is playing among them, a comparison of gas emissions in combustion, system options for CNG combustion, bi-fuel technical solutions issues in the EU and Slovakia. In the second part, we will introduce our research, in which we tested a selected vehicle available on the market and subjected it to a performance test, also we tested fuel consumption on the selected route. Finally, we reviewed the actual situation and suggested recommendations for practice.
