The assignment of this thesis is to design a center for seniors in residential complex in Sunny Hill in Devínska Nová Ves, Bratislava. We used a method of solar containers in the design of the complex. Geometry of the solar container specifies the maximum possible amount of built-up volume. It also affects the shape and expression of the architecture. The aim is to maximally utilize this volume and fill it with a suitable functionality for the target group of people in the senior age. Our design of the complex includes living part and socio-cultural part, which complement each other to form a closed internal area. The whole area is oriented to the inside, separated from the neighbourhood. This creates a space designated only for residents and visitors of the center. Our design also covers the appropriate zoning of spaces and facilities for the elderly. The aim of our design is to create a suitable space for the eldery with some degree of intimacy and security, but on the other hand with a contact to the outside world.
