The content of my diploma project is a complex interior project for an existing building near the bus station Mlynské nivy of which the main building has a circle shaped ground plan with 2 rectangle additional buildings at the front. The project is in continuation from the previous project in which the main subject was a complex reconstruction of the building as a whole incl. Interior construction changes, facade and the surroundings. In consideration of the area in which the building is situated -- near the Apollo biznis centre, I decided to change the buildings function to a restaurant . The interior and the restaurant with its range of goods are all thematic. As the new name California Dreamin' (borrowed from a song by The mamas & the papas) indicates, the theme is America and the interior is inspired by the 50s american diner and hollywood, California. The restaurant in the main building offers a classic american home made style food while the additional buildings offer a quick treat in form of colorful cupcakes and frozen jogurt in many flavours which makes the restaurant one of a kind in Bratislava and may also attract the younger generation from a wider area of the city . In the summertime the buildings are interconnected with the exterior which offers more seating options situated outside in the grass plot.
