Degree of professional qualification: Bachelor. Zvolen. Faculty of Forestry, 2020.Bachelor thesis examines the acreage of forest cover in the cadastral area of village Prečín from years 1949 and 2010. In the thesis, we deal with the character of forest land, its differentiation, identification and acreage according to methodological procedures of Forest Management. In general, we describe the development of forest cover over time, based on historic development and acreage of land and white areas throughout Slovakia. Bachelor thesis briefly and clearly defines the terms such as photogrammetry and photointerpretation, history and current forest mapping, and terrestrial geodetic methods used while mapping borders of forest areas. The cadastral area of village Prečín was characterized in different aspects, focusing on programs ArcGIS, ArcMap and Kokeš which are used in geographic-information systems. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis, after definition of borders of the cadastral area on the historic and current orthophotomap, we delimited, calculated and compared the acreage of the changes of forest cover in the given program in a specific time point.
