The final bachelor's thesis presents the subjective view of the author on the design of the thematic interior of a holiday cottage. The benefit expressed in the idea of employing the human senses and introducing a person to movement in space offers a new experience of relaxation in the cottage environment, which may at first glance seem like an unusual combination, consisting in connecting two different cultures. The visual application of the theme of the interior will be addressed in the style of subjective interpretation of folk elements from the past. At the same time, the work points to the way of connecting traditional Slovak and typical Scandinavian elements into new contexts. The work emphasizes the transformation and use of wood as a natural material applied in the architecture of the building to the furniture elements. The environment in which the cottage would be built was also important. The location affected the function of the building and the character of the interior. The Donovaly area, which would become the seat of a cottage, is currently an ideal environment for hiking and recreational sports. In this work, we will deal with the context that led us to create such an idea, evaluate the current state of the object, clarify the characteristic elements of individual countries and, above all, mediate the final proposal.
