Main pillars of the thesis are based on fulfilling hospice service principles. The work is concentrated on demands, that are necessary for the accommodation space, intended for a patient in the last stage of life. The thesis also presents the importance of the palliative care development. Universal space provides the feeling of home and simplify everyday administration of the patients by a multidisciplinary team. The design of hospice room positively affects perceptions of the patients by its colour selection and makes space lighter. It also calms down relatives and encourage the patient to communicate. The indoor garden provides a space for personal conversations and meditations. The environment with the hospital equipment is wormed up by soft shapes and selected materials. Concept is enhanced by design aspect of shade graphics, located on the “vault” celling of the patient’s room. Perception of harmony and peace is based on proportions and balanced composition of applied materials.
