This bachelor’s thesis deals with the organisation and management of land associations in the Slovak Republic. The thesis is divided into three logical parts. The part on theory deals with the nature of ownership and usufructuary relations, as well as the historical overview of the land associations development. The particular nature of land associations is analysed in this part. The second part focuses on the actual operation of land associations in the Slovak Republic, their legal situation and the current state of land associations. The current issues of forest management are also dealt with. The last part is concerned with the selected land association “Komposesorát Nesluša”. This part analyses the state of the managed assets, organisational arrangement, economic indicators, as well as specific issues in the company and asset management. In the end, the thesis looks at proposals for solutions of specific issues of said land association that we deemed as most serious. That included issues with shareholders attendance at general assemblies, issues with the current composition of woods and related disturbances.
