It explains what is the difference between a family business and a regular business. The work deals with the issue of succession. The aim of this work is to point out the importance of this topic, which is not given sufficient attention. The object of research work is a specific family business. The key methods are analysis and comparison. The information collection methods used are structured interviews. We also applied the comparison method when evaluating the obtained data. The conclusion of the research confirmed that not enough time is devoted to this topic. The readiness of the owners was insufficient. The benefit of the work is that we have provided the company with valuable information, but especially that we have created a procedure to implement the succession.
