The aim of this thesis is to find out whether it is possible to design a house with net zero greenhouse gas emissions life cycle and what is important in design of the house. One family house with three different assemblies of walls, floors, ceilings and roofs was designed to compare the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from construction phase. The operational energy use was calculated in the PHPP program, to determinate the amount of emissions from the operation phase. Using the SimaPro program, we determined the GWP environmental impact indicator were determined for the individual phases of the life cycle of each house. The results of the thesis show, that for design of a house with net zero greenhouse gas emissions life cycle, it is necessary to focus on energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources and the use of natural building materials. If any of these three areas are not taken into account, carbon neutrality will not be achieved and so neither mitigation of climate crisis.
