The Bachelor thesis is focused on the usage of water as an extinguishing agent of disposal of fires with the use of fire-fighting equipment. Furthermore, studies chemical and physical properties of water which are the major key in extinguishing fire with water. As well, shows the importance of water extinguishing effects and factors which have the largest impact on extinguishing effects. Describes methods of transporting the water to the place of fire, adjusting water for a more efficient way of putting out the fire and potential limitations, or undesirable reactions. The aim of this work is analysing the occurrence of fires and use of streams, show the diversity of fires, and the amount of used water for extinguishing fires in the Ilava district in the year 2019 from the fire station in Dubnica nad Váhom. The results show that for the disposal of fires the most used agent was water and the most utilized was the high-pressure stream which was used in the majority of fires. The year 2019 was for the Ilava district, from the point of fires, calm. That is because the amount of water that was used for firefighting was only 133 140 litres which is the least for the last 5 years.
