Wildlife animals have been an integral part of nature since ancient times. However, these animals can cause considerable damage in forests, especially in young stands. Forest managers are constantly striving to preserve young trees as much as possible, whether it is from natural rejuvenation or from artificial regeneration. Today, several methods of protection are used, especially chemical coatings or mechanically fastened cuffs, which can repel game with some success. Task is focused on the evaluation of these two types of protection, which were used in young stands, respectively their effectiveness on bites by animals. Primarily these are stands of fir but also beech and spruce. The research areas were established in the village of Gápel and the stands belong to LS Nitrianske Rudno. Two areas were compared with each other, one of these areas was always protected. The total number of research areas was six. I added another area to the measurement, which was protected by a fence. The results of the protection are positive, because the damage was significantly lower on the protected areas.
