The main goal of the diploma thesis entitled ‘Design for practice‘ is to create a design for a specific company involved in the manufacture and sale of furniture. The design for the company PASPOL s.r.o., that mainly deals with the production of chairs made of bent solid wood, is a series of products- a chair, a bar stool, a chair with armrests, a hanger and a valet stand. The main design is a chair inspired by a sidewalk or architecture that was overgrown or destroyed by the greenery. This effect was created by bent wood, which is supposed to depict a plant and a backrest and seat, which depicts a foreign body as a sidewalk or building. Furniture elements should not be very ostentatious in their appearance, because the main goal was to create furniture for sale that fits into almost any interior. The furniture creates the impression of aesthetic simplicity with various interesting details, which are located on the seat and backrest, but also under the seat. The work was consulted with the company PASPOL s.r.o. for its entire duration.
