This bachelor's thesis relates to the monitoring and methods of elimination of various species of invasive plants in the surrounding of Žarnovica. The theoretical part includes invasive plants' general features, ways of spreading, the factors affecting their expansion and the consequences it may have. The thesis then goes through the most effective ways to remove specific species of invasive plants that have been found in various locations around Žarnovica - the highest quantity of them being found in the areas alongside the river Hron. In total, there were 10 localities with 4 species of invasive plants observed. The following ones were most prevalent: Solidago canadensis, Helianthus tuberosus, Fallopia japonica and Stenactis annua. The variety of species found during the observation was rather poor, almost monodominant, growing densely with a high concentration of invasive species. This bachelor's thesis also includes tracking down the owners of the lands, where the species – specific plants were found.
