The diploma thesis focuses on climate changes and its impact on ecosystems of Slovakia. It deals with the issue of environmental management of the model area and emphasizes the need to implement adaptation measures of communities to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the explanation of concepts and conceptions of the environment, the issue of climate change, their origin and impacts on ecosystems, possible solutions. Points to selected aspects of sustainable development and landscape management in the Slovak Republic in the context of development documents of territorial self-government. An overview of the legislation of the Slovak Republic, which deals with the issue of environmental protection and territorial development, is processed in the first part too. The second part of the diploma is focused on the characteristics of the model area and current conditions of area in context of strategic documents. This part contains our own analysis of problems with protection of environment and the impacts of climate changes in the model area. In the practical part, we propose steps to improve the current management and improve the environmental quality of model area.
