The aim of the bachelor thesis called „Unfair Business Practices and Legislative Protection against them in SR and EU“ was to contribute to increasing legal awareness of common consumers to create material that will present unfair business practices used in simplified form and acquaint the consumer with possible legislation forms of protection against them in Slovak republic and European Union. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on explanation of basic concepts, presents unfair business practices, points to legislative protection against them and presents the institutions for the protection of consumer rights. In the practical part, an analysis of selected examples of unfair business practices in Slovak Republic and European Union and subsequent summary and comparison of the acquired knowledge is performed. Based on the results of the previous parts of the thesis, we have developed specific proposals and recommendations on how to protect yourself from the unfair business practices used and in the most appropriate way.
