The work presents natural conditions, the principal morphological and hydrological characteristics of Račkova valley in Western Tatras. Based on map data, we analyze the occurence of avalanche paths in Račkova valley. The aim of the work was to determine an amount upper forest limit in locations the impact with avalanche paths and without avalanche paths. At present the upper limit of the forest in the hill walling moves on the height 1554 m asl. Anothe part was the graphical representation of the avalanche paths in the form of longitudinal profile.
