The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on valid health and safety legislation when working with hydraulic recovery tools within the fire and rescue service of the Slovak Republic. Also in this section are the statistics of work injuries within the whole fire and rescue corps and the description of the used hydraulic recovery tools. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the comparison of the speed of the person's liberation from the car by means of a hydraulic recovery tool and a cutter. Comparing the resulting values with other works by other authors. and then evaluating the measured values. From the resulting values, it was found that a more efficient recovery is with the help of a hydraulic recovery tool. There was a great deal of noise, temperature and flying particles in the cut-off saw that could cause the leakage of operating fluids to ignite in a car accident. Also, with this type of liberation, there is a lot of noise that could lead to the shock of the liberated person and to her erratic behavior.
