Zvolen: TU, 2019, 75 s.The diploma thesis deals with the issue of flood protection in the conditions of climate change. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse current state in the field of securing flood protection in the area of Slovak Republic, to identify needs with regard to the increasing level of readiness of individual systems in the future, particularly in respect of anticipated scenarios of the development of climate change. Currently, the climate change is a global issue, so it is important to face this problem and to seek appropriate measures to prevent unfavourable climate changes in the future. Last but not least, it is important to find and to implement tools and measures, that will enable to detect the risk of flooding in time, to forestall it or to minimise its impacts, so it not poses a threat to life or serious damage to the health and property of people, as well as to the environment.
