The content of this thesis is creating a design of public space, which points out the traditional elements combined with recent style of design. For this case, an object of the former grammar school in the location of Sekier in Zvolen has been chosen, in which we designed a project of a traditional restaurant. In the design of space, number of separate zones linked with unifying elements as been created, thanks to whom the interior of the restaurant is perceived as a whole. There is a newly created entering space with a part of the restaurant designed as a log cabin, which extends form interiot to exterior. Next, there is a café, bar, dining room, buffet, multifunctional space, storeroom and toilettes. The restaurant also includes an atrium full of greenery. The main aim was to create an area, which point out the traditional elements and brings a new point of view on our unique culture and its legacy. Another goal was to bring an abandoned and dilapidating building back to life and use its potential to the fullest.
