The presented bachelor thesis evaluates the changes in the use of the landscape of the selected territory of Slovakia. It monitors the evolution of the secondary structure of the landscape during the period from 1787 to 2010 on the basis of military historical and aerial photographs. Based on the thematic layers created in ArcGIS, it compares the representation of each form of land use, evaluates and compares the intensity of the change in land use between periods and the absolute intensity of change throughout the period. And it also tracks areas, that have not changed.
