The aim of the thesis is to experimentally verify the influence of the type of cutting insert from various manufacturers on their wear, the components of the resulting force and on the roughness of the machined surface (bottom of the milling groove) during the groove milling operation. The work deals with the time course of cutting wedge wear and time course of the change resulting force and its components when machining austenic stainless steels of class 17 (X5CrNi18-10 according to DIN) is significantly dependent on correctly selected technological parameters and the type of material of repleaceable cutting insert.
