Bc. Matej Galo, The management of the hunting ground PZ Orlovec Jaklovce in the district of Gelnica. Diploma thesis, Technical University of Zvolen, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Applied Zoology and Game Management, thesis supervisor Ing. Ľubomír Bútora, PhD., Zvolen 2021, 66 pages. The aim of the thesis was to outline the issue of game management in the hunting ground PZ Orlovec Jaklovce. In the first part, the thesis focused on the evaluation of the game management in the hunting grounds and districts in Slovakia, followed by the evaluation of the population evolution of wildlife. Subsequently, based on the technical articles, the thesis provided the geological and climatic conditions of the given hunting ground, followed by a discussion about its influence on the quality of the trophies. The thesis analyzed the documents provided by PZ Orlovec Jaklovce, evaluated the text and graphic outcome of the last five years and compared it to the optimal state based on the technical literature. We pointed out the mistakes and weaknesses of the management of the hunting ground, as well as the strenghts and possibilities of improving its game management. Marginally, we discussed the current situation and the impact of the African swine fever in the district. The thesis was of a theoretical-experimental nature, as it processed the issue of the management of hunting grounds generally, followed by the application of the theoretical knowledge by describing the management of PZ Orlovec Jaklovce and the possibilities of its improvement, in order to achieve the breeding target, environmental improvement of wildlife and optimal trophy quality. We decided to elaborate on this issue based on the fact that the autor is a land owner in the hunting ground PZ Orlovec Jaklovce, as well as waiting for membership in the hunting association.
