The presented diploma thesis describes the specifics of the selected water reservoir Veľká Maňa, located on the Dolinský brook, part of the Žitava river basin. The aim of the work was to evaluate the Veľká Maňa reservoir in terms of its interaction between technical and operational values with the relevant environmental conditions on the basis of ecological-environmental issues of climate change. Water sampling from the tank was performed for the analysis of selected physico-chemical indicators on the basis of which the water quality was evaluated according to the Government regulation of the Slovak Republic no. 269/2010 Coll. The water reservoir was processed in terms of its use as a breeding and fishing facility for fish, which was statistically evaluated. Applications in practice have been proposed in terms of ecological measures to prevent physico-chemical pollution of water and suitable landscape-ecological measures (sowing procedures, planting of riparian and forest stands, ensuring the environment for game).
