The nature and type of the manufacturing operation itself and the type of material contained within the building play a significant role in a fire in a industrial building. This thesis, entitled Addressing the impact of the industrial plant group on fire safety in industrial buildings, consists of three parts. The first part contains a theoretical overview of the problem addressed, discusses and clarifies the basic knowledge of fire, its development, discusses the fire safety of production buildings and their division into establishments, and last but not least specifies specific types of fire protection equipment. The second, practical part of the thesis contains a detailed solution of fire safety of a specific industrial building in two alternatives, without installation of fire protection equipment, which differs from each other by the type of production. The two alternatives are wood production and metal production. The third part of the thesis adds fire protection equipment to both alternatives. The thesis aims to compare the PBS solution of two alternatives of the same industrial building, which differ from each other in the type of production, and then to supplement this building with fire protection equipment. The individual solutions are processed following the Decree MV SR č. 94/2004 Z.z. [1] and its design standards STN 92 0201-1-4. The results of the work summarize the knowledge of the influence of the type of production on the overall design of the PBS of the industrial building, as well as the influence of fire-technical equipment on the largest permissible area of individual fire compartments. The work will result in the difference in the average fire load, equivalent fire duration, and the largest allowable area of each PÚ of the two alternatives.
