The goal of the thesis is architectural and urban designing of an information center situated in Bratislava's Old Town. The central part of the building is the information center that is, thanks to multimedia technology, enriched by educational function. There are several independent functions accomplished in the complex of two floors and one underground. In the first building there is a gift shop with particular depots. From atrium, there is an entrance to public underground garage as well as to café shop, which can be expanded to terrace in the summer time. In the first floor of the second building we can find the information centre together with exhibition premises and space for computer and multimedia technology. In the rear part of the building there is a lecture room with a bathroom, which operates independently from the information centre, thanks to its own entrance. The administration with archives and a staff room are situated on the second floor. Public parking and technical areas are both situated on the second floor. This floor is accessible through usage of ramp for cars and stairs and lift for those who are walking. The building is designed in a minimalist. It consists of two complexes of buildings that communicate with each other and create atrium for relaxing and cultural use. The shape of the complex connects differences between Obchodná Street and Chemical Faculty and highlights the dynamic function of the park. The complex of informational center has only a minimal number of windows. The backlight is provided by transparent façade that, thanks to reflecting mirror, is impervious to heat. The façade is mainly oriented to atrium, but also to the park and the busy east side. On the contrary, in the busy side of Jánska street and street named Kolar's square it is isolated by Protherm walls and Fundermax Java Kiesel slabs. The aim of the project is to make the capital's city centre more enticing in order to attract tourists, who can find there both, relax and useful information.
