Eva Putrová, CSc. - Bratislava: FA STUBA, 2014 The aim of this final bachelor thesis is revitalization of Námestie Hraničiarov Square in urban area Petržalka in Bratislava. Petržalka was built in the years 1967-1980. From construction of urban area nobody has not made greater efforts and care of public space. It is clear that this space has started to stagnate. Described characteristics are current for Námestie Hraničiarov Square. Even Though it is a transport hub, the are of daily migration of large numbers of people, park square suffers from lack of interest. The intention is making a space, which will be representative, social and recreational hub of local neighborhoods with healthy and valuable greenery. This will attract old and new users, who call for better public space. The text of the tesis deals with the current state of issues solved in Slovakia and abroad, the current state of Námestie Hraničiarov Square and also advocate the use of the concept of Park Square. The analysis focus on location, master plan, functional use, composition, analysis of vegetation elements, problems and public opinion research. The information obtained from these analyzes are graphically expressed in analytical and design part. This work meets the stated objective of creating a representative cultural and social space , space for passive and active recreation , which serves the public.
