Assignment of this bachelor project was Gallry and House of music. I chose House of music from couple reasons. The first is that I already did the gallery, the other is that Im a musician and my consultant Ing. Arch. Štefan Polakovič, whom I chose, had just the house of music assignment. The lot for my bachelor project is in Bratislava in part called Ružinov right next to Štrkovecké jazero. Nowdays is this lot used like a parking lot. Near there are two main roads called Sabinovska and Ružinovská street, but around the lot are many trees, that makes the plece silent. Car access is through one way street from Sabinovska street. Location is protected by greenery filter from from Ruzinov car main road. Thanks to car road redirection, pedestrian access is very comfortable and is very pleasant to walk around the lake, making location very valuable space. With its direct view to lake, panoramanatic views, changing intimacy to very living place. These conditions are perfect for project like Music Pavilion. Thats why I decided to make it as much as possible directly connected with public life. Project is connecting musicians, teachers and public. Idea is to make the space belonging to musicians and visitors in a very open way but with some borders keeping on mind. I wanted music to connect everyone coming in touch with project. It has different spaces, allowing users to communicate even without visual connection, just by sound. And on the other side you can hide there a be disrupted by nothing. This concept is coming from my personal experience with music. It allows you to communicate without words, sometimes words are even unnesessary. Musician in one part of building can theoretically communicate through music and make a connection with any kind of person, even the one he never met before. It can end up in music connection through jam, inspiring everybody attended. The heart of the project is music hall for around 150 people. It is located in the center, creating patio. Pedestrian ramp is going around the hall, from where you can access floors, creating different heights. Separately and not in order located music rooms are creating something like city in interior. Light is coming from the top above the hall. Space between the roof of hall and roof of whole building creates another little hall above each other. Transparent facades are located on the side facing the lake, taking the most of view by bigger height floors. Entrance is emphasized by empty volume of building in this direction ending up visually in the lake. Whole space is segmented with lot of perforation and shading with visual connection on the roof with columns ending here. From distance, it looks like one big volume, but coming closer makes it looks transparent. Building wants to emphasize its function by volume, communicating with surroundings and looking to lakeside persuading crossing people to enter.
