The task of the bachelor thesis is the the gallery building in Ružinov, the part of Bratislava. In a design process, the main idea was set to the biggest characteristic of the spot - the greenery. From the very first sketches of a building, imagined as a space adjusted to rose trees, I was about to create a gallery bringed into the original spot; with a condition not to cut out a lot of these trees, in an imaginary way rather non of them. The shape of the building was created by a cut off of the spot's borders, using the field not touched by a greenary. Basicly, the plan of the building shaped as a triangel (with all the holes for trees) was moved one level up, due to leaving the greenary on spot. To descibe an idea of the main exhibition space, I would say the main goal was in mixing two worlds into one mass of the gallery. Using a couple of transoms, i wraped original trees by glazing, so they can be a part of the interior. But the treetops have enough of space for further growing, as the buiding is just one storey high. Despite 'the tree idea', I was trying to create a very clear and easy-readable space organisation. For instance, there is a single lane with all the facilities, storage rooms, officies and other spaces for stuff. Then the main exhibition space and another additional services, as a gift shop or a restaurant. The main entrance is situated in the middle of the public part. About the construction system, there is an 8.1m module used for a load-bearing elements position. All the elements are designed from a reinforced concrete, except the ceiling construction. This part is created by a spatial composition of steel tubes, formed into a single plate. The Facades are designed as a transparent areas, compound by the glazing and an aluminium load-bearing frame.
