The diploma thesis is focused on finding extremes in climate changes which are related to rainfall-runoff process at catchment area. Location of our research is set to urban area of Slovak town Levice. Project documentation of sewerage system in town were provided by the organization Western Slovak Water Company (ZSVS a.s.), which is responsible for operation of the town sewerage system. During the analysis of received project documentation we detected multiple inaccuracies and defects, which required physical inspection of the identified locations. During the inspections process we have made necessary calibration measurements to correct the identified defects in the project documentation. Considering the hilly terrain where is enormous surface runoff of rainfall water and large unpaved fields in the area, we have decided to dedicate this thesis to make a proposition for design of rainwater management in this area. There has been proposed three main platforms for management of rainwater in the area. Usage of infiltration shafts with outer diameter of 2500 mm were suggested for buildings with roof area under 500 square meters. Calculated depth of the infiltration shaft in compliance with assessment, since the level of groundwater is 12 m below ground level. Due to the fact that the area’s characteristic feature is subsoil with good permeable soils, we have designed infiltration trench for a primary school building, with dimensions as follows – length of the infiltration trench L = 59 meters and depth h = 2 meters for periodicity-p = 0,2, taking into consideration potential risk of heavy rains in the area. Infiltration basin for rainwater harvesting was also designed for the building of the primary school in town with tank dimensions 30m x 10m with maximal duration for filling 39,34 min.The second part of the work is evaluating the impact of rainwater to the sewerage system using block rain with selected periodicity, taking into account impact of proposed solutions for management of rainwater in the area. Evaluation of existing sewerage network was handled at periodicity levels p = 0,5; p = 0,05; p = 0,2. The results shows that climate change has high level of impact on the rainfall runoff. Even with a rain with periodicity of p = 0,5; i.e. rain that occurs once in a 2 years, we have identified specific points in the sewerage network unable to fulfill its function without extensive stress. With proposal for better management of rainwater and consecutive reduction of amount of rainwater flowing into the general sewerage system, the evaluation results show as satisfactory in all points of the sewerage network.
