The bachelor thesis deals with the potential of the use of sorb tree (Sorbus domestica L.) in forest and landscape environment. The main objective is processing and analysis of problems related to the distribution, morphology, variability of the sorb tree (Sorbus domestica L.) as well as a brief description of the research object of the seed orchard of the sorb tree in Lipovec OZ Trenčín and in the wider geomorphological unit of the White Carpathians. It is possible to continue with the research through the Diploma thesis in methodological procedures of measurement of parent trees in stands and clones in the Lipovec seed orchard. Sorb tree is in the ongoing climate change the woody plant with great potential. Its fruits have healing effects and also rich use in the food industry. Wood provides for its excellent application in the industry. Our country has great opportunities to grow and exploit this tree.
