This diploma thesis analyses the outline of occupational safety and protection of health while working in mining operation of the company SLOVMAG, a.s. Lubeník as well as it deals with the impact of this mining activity on the environment. The thesis consists of theoretical part which deals with the characteristics of basic terms, legislation in the field of safety and health protection at work and with the assessment of the impact of mining mineral resources on the environment. The thesis also deals with more detailed description of the company, production process, the adherence of the duties of employer to the employees in the field of protection and safety at work as well as it deals with the environmental risks. The practical part deals with the processing of results of injury rate in recent years and it also offers the proposal on improvement of safety situation and environmental behaviour.
