Diploma thesis is focused on analysis and using of alternative forms of financing in small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovakia. The main goal of the diploma thesis was to review the measure of using alternative forms of financing in small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovakia, show problems and barriers connected with their using and then propose possible ways of their removal. For better understanding of this issue we have studied necessary literature of which we have formed the theoretical part of this thesis. We have described the current state of small and medium-sized enterprises, on goals and functions, benefits, disadvantages and barriers of business in this enterprises. The second part of this thesis is deducated to empiric research which aim was to learn the level of the usage of financial alternative forms in slovakian small and mid businesses and to identify key difficulties and barriers by using them. Based on these findings we named our own recomendations which are published in our final part of this thesis. Findings of research based on questionare were presented in text form as well as in pictures/graphs. We also described the using of alternative forms of financing in slovak market – factoring, forfaiting, franchizing, risk capital, crowdfunding and help from EU.
